Tasting Note | A complex and alluring bouquet of red plums and dark berries with spice, sweet sappy notes, and refined oak complexity. The palate is juicy and long with raspberries, plums, and sweet cherries. This is complemented by spice, earthy notes with a sappy mid palate and cedar oak finish. The all-round structure of the wine is seamless with silky tannins delivering a beautiful balanced wine. |
Technical Note |
Winemaking Region: Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria. Clone: MV6, 114, 115 - Soil Type: Self mulching black vertosol derived from tertiary basalt. Winemaking: De-stemmed to small fermenters with the inclusion of 15% whole bunches and cold soaked for 5 days. Wild ferment at 28 degrees for 7 days. Pressed to barrel for a wild malolactic fermentation. Oak Use: Matured in new to 4 year old French barriques for 12 months. |
